‍The Radi8 Basics

Reading and Sharing Stories

You've already performed one of the most important actions in Radi8: Reading a story. When you cick on a story in your news feed you can read the original article, like you're doing now. You can earn points for reading stories, but we're sure you're here because you're interested in the content... not just beating your co-workers in points.

The second most important action in Radi8 is sharing a story. If you look at the top-left corner of your screen inside the Radi8 mobile app, you'll see a button for sharing. When you tap on the button you can choose to share the article with others. You can email a link, share on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

You can also share directly from the news feed, without having to read an article. Just click the share button on the article summary. For those of you who like good competition, you can earn points when you share, too!

Points Leaderboard

Since we are on the topic of points, we'd like to point out the leaderboard tab. At the bottom of the screen in the Radi8 app you will see a tab called "Points" and you may even see a number over it. These points are calculated monthly so you can see how you're doing against your co-workers. The leaderboard points reset to zero at the beginning of the month. The number you see over the top of the Points tab is your total for the current month.

Sometimes you might get prizes for reaching certain points goals. It's up to your company admin and management. If you want something more than a friendly competition, go ahead and suggest awards you'd be motivated to win.

Publishing Stories

The Radi8 admin for your company can publish stories to the news feed. They can also enable certain other users to publish stories. If you think you would like to be able to share stories with the rest of the company, ask your admin to enable publishing for your account.

Once enabled, you will see a plus button at the top-left of your Radi8 app. Before you click on the button, make sure you've copied the URL of the story you want to share. Usually you can do this from the browser or other app where you read the original story—just choose copy URL. Now that you have the URL, go back to Radi8 and click the plus button. Paste in the URL and click the import button. You will see a preview of the story you are about to share. Choose whether you want the story to be Shared or Read. The default is to share, so just click on the Read button to suggest reading. If you want, you can edit the description below the image. When you're ready, click Save and it will be published to the company news feed.
